AUDIO

Radio is the quintessential writer’s medium. I started my career there, penning news, promos, station IDs, comedy bits, and hundreds of spots over the years. Here’s a few highlights.

I’m also a voice over artist who has done work for brands like ATT, Sprint, Motorola, MTV, Bowlmor, and more over the years. And of course, many internal rips and manifestos.

As an audiophile, and drummer / bassist who’s played in several bands, I also write and record songs. Here’s one I did with my pal Gill Witt (as our power duo “Cudgel,”) after we had some tech problems. Gill’s on lead guitar/keys/vocals. I’m on bass / drums & percussion / lead vocals:

As “Cudgel,” Gill and I recorded a number of songs, including this one about the pleasures of upstate livin’. Gill is on banjo/guitar/lead vocals and I’m on drums/bass/harp and attempting to play mandolin.

We never did a lot of ballads, but when Gill came over with this guitar riff we went with this more emotionally expressive number. Recorded at La Vista Studios, Croton-On-Hudson.

This band “Jayco Kingpin” was comprised of Gill Witt on lead guitar, Harry Woods on rhythm guitar, Mike Vitacco on lead/rhythm guitar, Rob Fielack on bass, and myself on drums. This is one track we never got around to writing lyrics for. Recorded live at Logopolis in the Catskill Mountains.

“Wandering Socks” was the first band I was in. We were an “ad band” wherein every member was in advertising. We weren’t very good, but we had very well-designed posters. So we got a decent crowd during the 90s East Village scene. The lineup was Gill Witt on guitar, Tom Godici on bass/drums/vocals, Chris Lindau on bass, and me on drums/vocals. This is “Sallie Mae,” our ode to predatory lending.
